Barthimée Hospital, Africa

Barthimée Hospital is a level 2 private Christian hospital (100 bed capacity) in Thies, the 3rd largest city in Senegal. Whilst a small hospital, Barthimee has collaborations with the local medical and nursing/midwifery schools such that medical students and nursing/midwifery students have placements at the hospital. The hospital has recently received donations of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic (including resectoscope) equipment, which presents an exciting opportunity to grow in this area where these services are not widely available in the region and to become a centre of expertise and training. Additionally both gastroscopy and colonoscopy are also available.

Barthimee is now seeking missionary doctors to add to the team, both an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and a General Surgeon to help build capacity, in both service provision, leadership/supervision, and training. An interest in fertility medicine would be a bonus due to the high rates of infertility.
